Lit Fox Books is a nonprofit, woman-owned press located in Austin, TX. We're looking for poets to lead virtual poetry workshops as part of our commitment to supporting poets and creating accessible literary spaces.

Compensation: $100 honorarium
Audience: Open to all poets with a “pay what you can” registration model (all payments will go towards supporting Lit Fox Books)

Lisa Mottolo, our Founding Editor, will closely read your poetry manuscript and provide detailed comments including line edits and general feedback on the manuscript as a whole. Please allow up to four weeks for feedback. 

Bio: Lisa Mottolo is the Founding Editor at Lit Fox Books and she lives in Austin, TX. She is the author of the poetry collection How to Monetize Despair (2023, Unsolicited Press) and her poetry has appeared in Penn Review, DIAGRAM, The Laurel Review, Santa Clara Review, and others.  Lisa has attended writing programs at UC Berkeley and Kenyon College, and she has been involved in the publication of hundreds of books in many genres, although she particularly enjoys working on poetry collections.

 Lisa is currently providing feedback for poetry chapbooks and full-length poetry manuscripts.

Lit Fox Books, a nonprofit press based in Austin, TX, is a woman-owned organization offering opportunities for writers that require zero fees, including a poetry book award, a poetry residency, a quarterly poetry series, and an author interview series.

The Lit Fox Poetry Series is a publication featuring one exceptional poem per quarter. Payment is $150, and the selected poem will be our featured poem for three months. As always, there is no submission fee.

We tend to like free verse poetry, prose poetry, and vivid imagery. That being said, we are open to all types of poetry. 

Please submit 1-5 poems in a single document.
