Lit Fox Books, a nonprofit press based in Austin, TX, is a woman-founded organization offering opportunities for writers that require zero fees, including a poetry book award, a poetry residency, a quarterly poetry series, and an author interview series.
The Lit Fox Poetry Series is a publication featuring one exceptional poem per quarter. Payment is $150, and the selected poem will be our featured poem for three months. As always, there is no submission fee.
Please submit 1-5 poems in a single document.
Lit Fox Books is a nonprofit press that values bold literary work. In addition to publishing poetry collections, we support poets by providing fee-free programs, including poetry book awards, a quarterly poetry series, and a poetry residency.
The Lit Fox Poetry Prize is for one previously published poetry collection of exceptional merit. Submissions will be reviewed by our human readers (not AI). The winner and finalists will then be determined by our editors and announced in December 2026.
The winner will receive:
- Award stickers for the winning book and a JPG for the publisher's use
- An interview with Lit Fox Books
- A book review with Austin Poetry Review
- A blurb from Lit Fox Books
- Book promotion on our website and across our socials
Further details:
- The book must have a publication date within the past three years (August 15th 2023 - August 15th 2026).
- The book may be submitted by either the author or the publisher.
- Traditionally published, self published, and hybrid published books are eligible. Traditionally published books must be from an independent press (not a big five publisher).
- Please submit by October 1st, 2026.
